IK-Code

The IK code is an international numeric classification for the degrees of protection provided by enclosures for electrical equipment against external mechanical impacts. It provides a means of specifying the capacity of an enclosure to protect its contents from external impacts. The IK Code is international standardized in IEC 62262 (relate to EN 62262, in the past EN 50102). There are ten protection types according to the impact energy which the enclosure can resist at least.

Definition of the protection types (level of impact protection)

00 = no protection
